and yet somehow we both see, the very same way.

Silence..

silent like
dim light burning bright -

bright to reveal a seal or bond broken by
burning bridges -

lit with the flame from loves sweet game -

and put to
death

:)

with a smile...

One Is All I See
by Derrick Betting

perfection
is pretending-

a grain in a million
a billion
a trillion

but one
only one
I see
imperfection
a trick to your eye

illusion-

a grain in a million
this one
jagged-jaded
sun-burned brown

a gander beyond
normalness
reveals truth
in “one in a million”

pretending is
not
perfection
.

My Leaf Life
By Derrick Betting

Decades of growing-learning
Years passing
with every Month I-my color shed
the Days withering away
and every Hour
the Seconds don't seem like seconds
when you are falling...

The colors of the world is changing, day by day.

Perplexing, it is, coming to the sudden realization that truth and all means of the term are suddenly as fluid as a simple covalent bond.  What is truth.(?)
Perplexing, for one.  Secondly, it would be under the same analysis that truth is relative to the eye of the preciever.  What you know and what is, is not always compatible, in so much that your truth, then becomes relative or objective.

My objective truth is that pain, hurt, anguish, and life (for that matter) are all sitting front row as this masquerade of life starring myself, which seems to beat onward and belt loudly.

(It's not over till the fat lady sings)

Perhaps the "fat" lady has been belting tunes for ages only  to find that there is nobody there to listen.  Certainly, it's plausible and ready to assume that the "fat" lady could be singing, but only to reveal that with every ending we are readily introduced to and greater or equal evil.  Or, perhaps the "fat" lady is a parallel or euphemism for the end itself, and the singing is merely a celebration (of) the dark...(in) the dark.

Physical Things

When It Rains

The world
and everything/
a single-song you sing-
like a sheet of music, unfurrelled

Bruised and
beaten down/refused
to be let down.  Yet remain
drowning as (i) continue to lose.

I cant seem to see a single sight
of what might remind me of...
...
you

There must be MUCH more than this AlMoSt adequate, provencial life.

Through many of the latest generations it is unquestionable that the youth have been exponentially losing moral, ethic, and respect (among many other things) for themselves, their elders, and for life in a general sense. Many would argue that this is due to the music the youth listen to, and other would say that it would have been due to the movies they watch and both may be in some way or another accurate; but one aspect of the media that I believe is more at fault than is at question is reality TV. I fail to see how any good can ultimately (and that’s key) could co me from reality TV. Reality TV deceives young people, and undoubtedly promotes behavior that is less than appropriate. These would be thought of as bold statements by interested viewers, which is why I am making it my prerogative to elaborate and expound.

Jersey Shore is the reality TV show that was brought to mind when I interviewed one of my peers regarding their thoughts on reality TV. Jersey Shore is a show that depicts the lives of 4 Italian men and 4 Italian women as they spend their summer in Miami living together working during the day and partying the night away. There has never been an episode aired that didn’t involve all of the following, drinking, profanity, interpersonal altercation, and sex. Now, of course this is just a depiction of the everyday lives of these people but at the same time, every time a young guy sees “The Situation” (the nickname of a cast member) go to the club and bring several girls home and “smash” (a derogatory slang synonym meaning to have sex) it is making it more and more socially acceptable in the eyes of the viewer. RAND Health did studies that lead to the conclusion that watching teens talk about sex, and have sex on television has lead to a faster pace at which they have sex. (CITE) Clearly there is a connection between television and the behavior or young people and the content involved in reality TV does nothing to help the situation. What this proves is that our society as a whole has absolutely no regard for the innocence of our youth, and certainly no concept of maturity or civil responsibility. Thus, the blame lies on everyone as a whole but through reality TV partially.

Thank you Jersey Shore, for making it okay to get hammered and smash as many people as desired.  You really know how to set an example.  (cough**)

There must be more than this provencial life...

An office chair.  the epitome of comfort and relaxation (an aweful optimistic point of view).  On the other hand, a symbol for all that is wrong with todays society.  Laziness.  With the growth in technology and expansion of artificial intelligence through out the country, the willingness for people to do... anything fo that matter has declined, exponentially.

The irony in all of this is the simple fact that I am sitting nowhere other than the most comfortable office chair my butt has ever experienced, writing about said issue (that is the source of the nations issues). Hypocrisy at it's best.

Hypocrisy, another contributing factor to the fal of the nation, and mankind for that matter.  You would think that we would learn.

(see the last sentence of paragraph two)... an interesting conundrum.

Who am I...

Who is Frank

Who is Frank?

Let me just say for safety sake that I am Frank, which you would think to answer the question at hand.  Not so fast; if you were curious enough to read my information bit you will know that surely my real name is not Frank.  Frank is a metaphor, a phantom if you will.  [()]

If you have yet to find out what it is I am talking about, just sit tight.  You are about to be enlightened.  [@]

Frank is a man of many words. I would like to think that Frank is brilliant and witty beyond all compare but at the same time, why would you all concern yourself with what I think?  Well, if you are reading this blog post you obviously do, or possibly you don't and just have nothing better to do.  I am going to assume that you actually have a life and are the least bit curious.  So, who is Frank?  [*%]

I made frank up, almost out of thin air.  A figment of my (Derrick's) imagination that would serve to provide for whatever need I feel I am having.  Life is a masquerade, and Frank is my mask.  [/]   Frank will think, and what Frank will think I will adequately concern myself with but only at times when Frank is rational.

You will never see Frank.. I am willing to bet that Frank has already picked you apart.  Piece by piece.

FaceSpace

Good Afternoon All,

I would like to propose a thought, and would appreciate any input.

I am willing to propose that the over abundance of Social Networking that has saturated the market of communication in contemporary America has significantly diminished the amount of interpersonal (face-to-face) contact that people have with one another.  Is this a bad thing?  Are there means of Social Networking that are just as valuable?
